Master's degree – for architects of the future

On May 4, 2025, in the assembly hall of the main building of Shakarim University, Rector Duman Orynbekov held a meeting with prospective master’s students — one of the key events of the international forum Innovate Shakarim University, which united science, innovation, leadership, and the university’s regional mission.

The audience consisted of over 300 attendees, including graduates of the university, and some of them are still studying at Shakarim University. They came not merely for consultation, but for confirmation of something greater — that this is a place where they can build a career and research trajectory of international level.

“How far are you willing to go?” — this is how the rector began the conversation.

“Shakarim University today is a convergence point of an intellectual ecosystem, where new solutions are born. To be not just an executor, but an architect of change, a single diploma is not enough. A master’s degree is the choice of those ready to take on responsibility,” emphasized Duman Orynbekov.

Over the past two years, the student body has grown 1.5 times;

Faculty members educated in Japan, the United Kingdom, China, and Korea now work in Semey;

Master’s programs have been launched in partnership with international universities;

International internships are being implemented;

A platform for startup acceleration and scientific debuts has been launched.
